Sun Netra Servers
The Sun Netra range of servers comprise
of a range of 1 - 8 processor UltraSPARC based rack mountable systems specifically designed for the Telecoms market. The name has been used for some considerable time by Sun and early versions were simply rebadged versions of their standard offerings (eg Netra 20 was a rebadged Sparcstation 20 and not a true telecoms grade system). The later range which started with the Netra T1/100 and 105 marked the beginning of the true 'rack mount telecoms systems' which had the 48V DC option as well as 120/240V AC for their PSU's. The processors used vary from 440Mhz through to the current UltraSPARC IV+ based systems at 1.8Ghz. Below is a list (not exhaustive) of the systems available in the Netra range.
T1/100 or 105 - 1U, single processor SCSI based system, comprising a 360 or 440Mhz CPU, up to 1Gb mem, 1 or 2 off SCSI disks typically 9 to 36Gb and optional CD. (100 has 48V DC PSU, 105 has 120/240V PSU)
T1 AC200 or DC200 - 1U, single processor SCSI based system, comprising a 500Mhz CPU, up to 2Gb mem, 1 or 2 off SCSI disks typically 18 to 72Gb and optional CD. (DC has 48V DC PSU, AC has 120/240V PSU)
1405 - 4U, 1 - 4 processor SCSI based system, comprising 1 - 4 440Mhz CPU, up to 4Gb mem, 1 to 4 off SCSI disks typically 9 to 36Gb and optional CD and DDS tape drive. (48V DC or 120/240V AC PSU's)
240 - 2U, 1 - 2 processor SCSI based system, comprising 1 or 2 1.0, 1.28, 1.5Ghz CPU, up to 8Gb mem, 1 to 4 off SCSI disks typically 36 to 146Gb and optional DVD. (48V DC or 120/240V AC PSU's)
